PTFE Tapes
PTFE Thread Seal Tapes
PTFE thread seal tapes meet MIL spec 27730A and are 3.5 mils thick. They are composed of white sintered PTFE and are wound on a blue spool with a white snap-on shell cover. Can-Do stocks PTFE thread seal tapes that are manufactured and imported from the Far East, but domestic products are also popular. These PTFE film products are recommended for use on all threaded fittings for passage of water, gas, oxygen, chemicals, and other fluids or gases.

PTFE Coated Fiberglass Tapes
PTFE coated fiberglass tapes are high temperature resistant, have a low coefficient of friction, and are chemically inert. PTFE tapes are resistant to wear and tear and are used in a variety of manufacturing processes. For example, these tapes are used in the manufacture of plastic bags and various plastic products, as a cover to heat seal and l-bar heat presses, for tool and mold release, and in baking applications. They are available with high temperature silicone or acrylic adhesive systems, and they are also available with or without liner.

PTFE Fabric
PTFE fabrics are high temperature resistant, have a very low coefficient of friction, and are chemically inert. PTFE fabrics are used in contact with food, and they are resistant to wear and tear. These products have high dialectric strength and are available in custom widths, lengths, or as belts used on food conveyors.

Skived PTFE
Skived PTFE tapes are high-density tensilized PTFE films coated with 1.5 mils of high temperature adhesive. They are used in electrical applications where heat resistance and electrical insulation are important. Application examples include use in coil and harness wraps, in transformers, separators, and slot liners. In mechanical applications, skived PTFE tapes are used in flat die extrusions as roll protection due to these tapes' non-stick surface and high temperature resistance.
Thickness: 2, 3, and 5 mils (film only)
Width: custom slit
Length: 36 yards
Ultra High Molecular Weight Material
Ultra high molecular weight film tapes have a low coefficient of friction and are wear resistant. They may be used to replace PTFE, and they provide a smooth surface. They allow material to glide, without friction, and may line shutes in certain production processes. Other applications include the base of skis and snowboards.
Thickness: 5-20 mil
Width: custom slit
Length: 18-36 yards
PTFE Film Tape
PTFE Film Tape consists of extruded polytetrafluoroethylene with a silicone adhesive. It provides excellent chemical resistance except to organic solvents, and it typically lies flatter than skived PTFE film tapes. The PTFE surface is easy-release and resistant to high temperatures.
