PROTEX 223-5, Protective Film
Mask-Off PROTEX 223-5 film with high tack synthetic elastomer resin adhesive
PROTEX 223-5 is a 5 mil polyester film coated with a very high tack pressure sensitive adhesive. Applied to aluminum, stainless steel or non-metallic floor panels around galley and lavatory areas on many types of aircraft to prevent water damage, oxidation or corrosion of the metal. Excellent protective material for aircraft windows during stripping operations. This product is not intended for fly-away applications. PROTEX 223-5 is applied to one side of fiber impregnated aluminum honeycomb core material to hold in place on vacuum table for milling opposite side. PROTEX 223-5 has high tensile, tear and impact strength. It is inert in water, moisture resistant, and is unaffected by oils, greases and volatile aromatics. It retains these outstanding properties remaining flexible and tough from -80°F (-62 °C) to 150°F (65.5°C).
