3M Automotive Thermal Bond Tape 5403
Heat Bonding and Pressure Sensitive Adhesive
3M 5403 Weatherstrip and/or gasket seals for automotive
3M™ Weatherstrip Attachment Tape 5403 is a 0.8 mm thick, medium-density, gray acrylic foam tape constructed with two different adhesives. The heat-activated adhesive forms an immediate, consistent and durable bond to most EPDM formulations and Santoprene® materials. The pressure-sensitive adhesive is characterized by high adhesion and holding strength to many surfaces, including automotive paints and metals. This tape has good conformability and is used to attach weatherstrip and/or gasket seals for automotive and industrial applications. It is recommended for applications where the vehicle taping surface is smooth and a thin tape is necessary.
- Excellent resistance to solvents
- High ultimate bond strength for secure seals
- Outstanding heat resistance for high temperature applications
- Rapid curing even at relatively low bonding temperatures
- Heat Seal tapes enables precise positioning
